Practice proposition
Infrastructure is often imagined as fixed: a system, a standard, a network, a border. I encounter it through movement. My practice follows how identity, value, intelligence, responsibility and belonging travel, and asks who gets to shape the terms of that movement.

A situated way of seeing
Having lived and worked across places, languages and institutions, I have become attentive to what must travel with a person, and what cannot. Identity has to be recognised again. Money changes its meaning and conditions of use. Professional knowledge loses and acquires authority. Objects carry memory while entering new systems of value.
This experience gives me a position from which to see infrastructure not as a stable background, but as relationships continually translated, negotiated and remade. I work from inside technological and institutional systems, then follow the questions they produce into public programmes, writing, objects and collective experiments.

About
This independent practice grew from industrial design and continues through products, ventures, technology, capital, institutions and cultural work. I grew up in Harbin and began with bodies, materials, use and the cultural life surrounding objects. Since then I have built across technology companies, consulting, venture building, universities and a global bank, moving between commercial products, public programmes and independent cultural work. I am based in Singapore now and preparing to move to Amsterdam. The transition gives my practice an active bridge between APAC and Europe: Singapore-based and remote delivery now, European partnerships in development, and Amsterdam-based work after relocation.
Industrial design students learn by making a chair, then have to ask why the world needs another one. Professional life added a second question: what gives a worthwhile idea enough technology, capital, attention and institutional support to grow? My practice holds both questions together.
Teaching, convening and public participation are not activities beside the practice. They are ways questions are tested, knowledge is shared and new relationships become possible. I taught at Tongji's College of Design and Innovation from 2020 to 2023 and helped establish CHEER as Founding Expert, mentoring more than 100 students and executives. I have coached teenagers building their first hardware projects, organised a workshop on sustainable fashion, initiated and hosted a future-banking panel that was included as a Singapore Design Week theme, and contributed as a guest lecturer and jury member from Hong Kong to Singapore since 2019. Alongside this, I write and perform as Workplace Misfit.
